Réseau Ferré de France is administered by a Board of Directors made up of 7 State representatives, 5 individuals chosen for their expert knowledge and 6 representatives elected by the company employees. In addition, the following members act in an advisory capacity: the Government commissioner, the head of the department of economic and financial control for transport (MCEFT) and the works council secretary.

The Board of Directors makes all decisions relating to the strategic, economic, financial and technological orientations of Réseau Ferré de France and oversees their implementation. It carries out all inspections and checks that it deems necessary. It evaluates internal control procedures.

The Board of Directors has created four specialist committees: the contract committee, the undertakings committee, the strategy committee and the audit committee, upon all of which it relies heavily during the decision-making process.

The Board has delegated some of its powers to its Chairman.
 

The Chairman of Réseau Ferré de France is nominated by the Board of Directors from among its members and appointed by a Council of Ministers’ decree.

He implements the policies decided upon by the Board of Directors and ensures that all decisions are followed up. He also has full powers to ensure that the public establishment runs correctly and to act on its behalf in all situations.

He is responsible for the good economic and financial running of the establishment and takes all necessary measures to steer this management within the boundaries of the targets assigned to the company.

Mr. Hubert du Mesnil was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of RFF by the decree dated 7 September 2007. The Chairman has delegated some of his powers to his employees.
