Ensuring success in our role means being able to steer projects that take into account local issues and understanding as much as possible about the realities of the way in which the network is actually used. Réseau Ferré de France therefore decided to set up a decentralised organisational structure of 12 regional divisions.

Regionalisation

Our territorial development policy aims to meet requirements and solve issues at a local level. We are always listening to local authorities, clients and associations in our desire to ensure that our actions are based on open dialogue and continuous consultation.
This successful organisational method has allowed us to forge close relations with all our regional partners in order to ensure our work is both efficient and successful.

Each regional division is comprised of:

an Investment projects department,
a Network management department,
an Administrative and financial department,
a Planning and assets department.

The role of the regional divisions

The role of these 12 divisions is to:

Ensure that Réseau Ferré de France is represented within the regions and to build relationships with local partners,
Implement the sectorial policies of our company in all areas:
    Network operation and maintenance,
    Using and improving network capacity,
Project leadership for investment into development and renewal,
    Planning and assets,
    External relations and communications,
    Environment and sustainable development,

Help write national policies and be involved in forward planning for changes to the network,
Prepare and apply our main sectorial policies in liaison with the central departments,
Draw up a regional development strategy for railway activities, in line with national policies.
