As a company our priorities are to improve our rail path offer, take client expectations into account and prepare for the liberalisation of passenger rail traffic in 2010.

Providing quality products

This is essential if we are to meet the demands of our clients. Réseau Ferré de France is drawing up an action plan to optimise its allocation of rail paths, the company’s flagship product. At the same time, the creation of a regulatory body in 2009, something that Réseau Ferré de France has been wanting, will encourage the opening of the market and the development of competition.
Rail Paths

Increasing traffic over our “mass media”

One of the reforms to which we are committed is the gradual roll-out of train time phasing: more trains, better coordinated with other local public transport, with clearer timetables and leading to a greater offer of freight rail paths. This has resulted in a hundred extra trains running each day since December 2007, serving residents in the pilot region of Rhône-Alpes (test currently underway).

A combination of the appearance of “local freight operators”, the creation of a priority freight network along the major lines, high speed freight, longer trains and efforts to direct transport all come under the company’s promise of railway freight regeneration.

It is a question of facilitating access and the activity of railway companies, whilst at the same time respecting safety requirements.

Towards a fairer price

Réseau Ferré de France has had a major overhaul of its prices. Fair usage charges will be determined based on the situation in each market segment. This is a necessary condition for the development of railway traffic and the sustainable financial stability of the company, for the benefit of all its clients.
