information file on Réseau Ferré de France
Réseau Ferré de France is a key player in the railway transport sector across France and Europe. It develops and provides access to a dense, reliable, efficient network that is in line with the new mobility requirements of both passengers and freight.
Created by the French State in 1997 in order to open up the network, Réseau Ferré de France has connected the French railways to Europe, linked it to other forms of transport, and provided access to a greater number of users. The international passenger transport market will therefore be ready for opening up to competition in 2010, following the liberalisation of the freight market in 2006.
Our company comes up with innovative products and services to ensure that every client has access to the railway network.
We are environmentally aware and help make the railways the most environmentally friendly mode of transport.
With a local presence in every single region, Réseau Ferré de France forges long-term relationships with all the players involved, not only at local level, but at a national and international scale too.
