New challenges for Réseau Ferré de France

Our company is mobilising its energy and talents in order to meet certain main challenges, namely:

the development, modernization and marketing of railway access in a manner that respects territorial cohesion at European, national and regional levels,
the steering of an unprecedented modernization plan, with a budget of 13 billion Euros, launched in 2008 and due to be completed in 2015,
the implementation of the the national policy on the construction of new lines, in light of the Grenelle de l’environnement,
the organization, for our clients in both passenger and freight rail transportation, of fair and efficient access to the rail network.

In addition, through our strategies and policies, we are committed to ensuring the sustainable development of transport throughout France and Europe.
 
An organisation suited to meet these challenges

The Chairman of Réseau Ferré de France is in charge of ensuring that the company runs correctly and takes on the responsibility for the general management of the company.

The company’s executive management is made up of the managers who are in charge of the following five areas:

Development and Investment
The responsibility of the assistant chairman, the role of this unit is to steer the development of the railway network in line with the orientations established by the Government and the requirements of our clients (railway operators, freighters etc.).

Clients and Services
Assigned to an Associate CEO, this division is tasked with increasing use of the network by raising the quality of train paths and services. Its goals are to boost the turnover of Réseau Ferré de France, cultivate client contacts and financially justify investments.

Infrastructure
This unit, which is the responsibility of a deputy managing director, has the role of guaranteeing availability and performance of the railway structures as well as the safety of traffic, especially as part of the management agreement signed with the SNCF (French National Railways).

Finance and Purchasing
This unit proposes and ensures the continuity of our company’s financial equilibrium, and is headed by a deputy managing director.

Strategie and Governance
Placed under the responsibility of the general secretary, this unit ensures the company runs well and guarantees its legal security by mobilizing human resources, IT and internal communication to fulfil its strategic and performance objectives.

Other departments at the head office also contribute to achieving the targets of Réseau Ferré de France: 

the Cabinet,
Public Relations and Communication,
Audit and Risks,
Legal Affairs,
European and International Affairs.

Finally, a deputy working with the President is responsible for relations with the Autorité de régulation des activités ferroviaires (ARAF), the railway authority, and for coordinating work initiated at its request.
Regional divisions to ensure we meet everyone’s needs

Réseau Ferré de France has created a network of 12 regional divisions. Thanks to them, we can understand and meet the specific problems and requirements of each region in terms of railway transport.

In addition, they allow us to hold constructive and permanent dialogue with local institutional and economic players, in particular the regional transport regulatory authorities.
