It is the product we sell to our clients so they can run a train from one point to another on the network at any given time.
The train path is put together with consideration for :
a planned itinerary (departure point, stops, arrival point),
departure and arrival times,
network availability (operating hours, construction work, etc.)
infrastructure characteristics (ramp, curve, etc.),
the train (tractive unit, train mass, length, etc.)
the path environment (traffic graph)
Freight catalogue train path or made-to-order train path
To make freight transport easier, we have put together a train path catalogue, which can be used to order and reserve train paths. Before any annual service time capacity can be granted, a supply of train paths is available on certain axes.

In addition, some international train paths have already been pre-constructed and are on offer in the freight train path catalogue.

The national train path conference, organised by Réseau Ferré de France, is an annual event that brings together top rail system players. This meeting gives them a chance to discuss and share information on traffic outlook and developments. It also gives Réseau Ferré de France the opportunity to better identify its clients’ expectations.
