Becoming a Réseau Ferré de France supplier means participating in large-scale, high-stakes projects involving the development of a network that integrates a sustainable development aspect. It also means getting involved in long-term projects and taking part in sustainable growth. We select suppliers that will contribute to our strategic directions, through optimised economic and technical offers. Every year, we spend almost €5 billion on purchasing, our largest item of expense.
Given the general climate of increased interest in railway transport, this volume should increase to meet the following needs:
for new lines recommended by the Environment Round Table
for the renewal of the existing network, on which traffic is set to increase

Budgets
Réseau Ferré de France dedicates almost €5 billion each year to purchasing, divided up between:
SNCF, our leading supplier, with €2.5 billion in spending,
suppliers we select directly, for €1 billion,
suppliers selected by our representatives, for €1.5 billion,
This spending concerns three main budget items:
network operation and maintenance for an annual €2.5 billion,
construction work, for an annual €1.5 billion,
supply, for an annual €300 million,
Five families
At Réseau Ferré de France, purchasing is divided into five families:
Engineering (Studies),
Civil Engineering (Covering Earthworks and Major Structures),
Track construction,
Sub-Stations and Catenaries,
Signalling and Telecommunications.
Each family of goods or services has a dedicated buyer.
